Gloucester Cathedral

Whilst getting involved with your research, exploring the various corners of Glorious Gloucestershire, we found so many beautiful and historical places that we felt we had to attempt to capture them. That is what we've done, and we've saved the photographs to a set of CDs, so they can be easily viewed and preserved with the rest of your genealogy information.

Our aim was to provide you with a glimpse of the parishes in which your ancestors lived and worked.  We have taken photographs of a range of old buildings and views in each of the ancient parishes of glorious Gloucestershire.  Although it has not always been possible, we endeavoured to keep modern intrusions to a minimum.  This meant that, in some cases, we could not take as many pictures as we would have wished. Also, some of the original parishes are virtually extinct and few buildings, if any, remain there.

Volume 1.  North Cotswolds
This CD covers the parishes in the north eastern part of the county of Gloucestershire centred around the towns of Winchcombe, Chipping Campden, Northleach, Fairford, Cirencester and Stow on the Wold.

Volume 2. The Severn Vale
The area covered by this CD is the northern part of the county lying between the Cotswold Hills and the River Severn.  This encompasses the parishes around the city of Gloucester and the towns of Cheltenham and Tewkesbury.

Volume 3.  Forest of Dean
The Royal Forest of Dean is just a part of the area covered by this CD.  It also includes all parishes north of the River Severn, including Lydney, Westbury on Severn, Newent, as far east as Tirley and as far north as Bromsberrow.

Volume 4. South Cotswolds
This CD covers all of the area south of the city of Gloucester and south of the River Severn.  It includes parishes around Stroud, Frampton on Severn, Tetbury, Berkeley, Thornbury, Bristol, Wotton under Edge and Marshfield.
